This page is not the same as the blog. It's a collection of photos organized by state (and the date we entered the state - with most recent at the top) and incudes some of our favorite photos. Some photos are chosen because they look good, some because they're unusual and some because they simply remind us of a place or event.

Montana (9-Mar-2015)
A flying visit to western Montana - including visits to a ghost town (Bannack State Park), Big Hole National Battlefield (where the Nez Perce were attacked by US troops), Missoula and Glacier National Park.

Wyoming #2 (6-Mar-2015)
All of the these photos were taken in Grand Teton National Park. It's a beautiful place and I'd love to visit there in spring and autumn when it's teaming with wildlife.
Idaho (26-Feb-2015>
Idaho was somewhat of a transitory state for us. We were using it to get into Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks so we didn't stay for long and didn't visit a lot of places. But we did have some fun in the snow.
Utah #2 (10-Feb-2015)
Utah is a truly beautiful state. We've been lucky to visit the state during an especially mild winter - no crowds and (just about) warm enough for the whole family to hike and explore. We loved Moab, but I doubt I'd enjoy it in the summer heat. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks should be on everyone's bucket lists.

Arizona (22-Jan-2015)
If you're interested in geology, native American history and culture then Arizona is the place to visit. The weather can get hot even in the winter - there's a reason it's a top destination for North American snowbirds. Phoenix, Montezuma's Castle and Well, Sedona, Grand Canyon and Monument Valley......

Provence, France (29-Dec-2014)
A week in Provence. We met up with two of Nina's sisters and their children - so Rhys, Dylan and Anwen and a great time with their cousins over the New Year. For the most part we were staying near a pretty little village called Methamis - not far from Avignon or the famous Mont Ventoux.

North Wales (22-Dec-2014)
Spent a week over the Christmas period with Nina'a parents in North Wales. Sightseeing highlights included Electric Mountain, Denbigh on Boxing Day and, of course, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

England (19-Dec-2014)
We had some brief expeditions into England from Wales before Christmas, including visits to Lydney, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa and Chester. Then upon returning from Provence after the New Year we spent a week in London, before returning to the US to continue our RV adventure.

South Wales (5-Nov-2014)
We landed at Heathrow around 2 PM on November 5th, picked up the hire car and drove straight to Llanelli, Wales, UK - arriving about 7:30 in the evening. I was born in Llanelli and grew up here. The purpose of this trip was to spend some time with my mother, who was recently diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, and let her spend time with her grandchildren. We planned to stay for a couple of months, but the cancer was very aggressive and my mother passed away on the morning of November 11th. We're still planning to stay in the UK until we return to the US in mid-January.

California (5-Oct-2014)
Much to the relief of Nina, we left Reno (it's not her favorite place) and continued West to Lake Tahoe, CA. We stayed at Meeks Bay, right next to the Lake. Lake Tahoe is a place we're very familiar with and love so much. Check out the pictures of the children swimming in the lake on the evening we arrived (in October).

Nevada (26-Sept-2014)
Continued West along I-80. Spent the first night in Nevada "boon docking" in a rest stop next to the freeway just west of Wendover. Next day we traveled all the way across the state to Sparks/Reno. We spent one night in the Nugget Casino/Hotel in Sparks - first time we've slept anywhere except on the RV in 7 weeks.
The Discovery Museum in Reno is excellent - the children had a blast there on two separate days. The Planetarium, not so good - we spent more time outside than inside because the fire alarm kept going off. Best thing about being in Reno was meeting up with so many of our friends!

Utah (14-Sep-2014)
Into Utah ..... dinosaurs, ski towns and an interesting past. Park City is the first place we've visited that Nina would consider settling down. Actually, we met a family who started a RV road trip in South Carolina with their three children this summer and decided to settle in Park City.

Wyoming (9-Sep-2014)
Our trip through WY was pretty swift. By this time, trouble with the RV wipers had forced to change our plans and start heading back towards CA, instead of working our way North towards Yellowstone NP (and onto Glacier, NP). A highlight (for want of a better word) was spending the night of September 11th camped in the Walmart parking lot in Casper, WY, because it was snowing. It was the earliest snowfall on record for the area. All part of the experience and adventure.

South Dakota (22-Aug-2014)
We returned to Sioux Falls, SD, (Rhys and I had already been here on our journey from CA to IA) to sort out some business and try to get some things fixed on the RV. During our time in SD we visited some great places. I could spend a lot of time here - it has a lot of history and some stunning landscapes.

Iowa (11-Aug-2014)
Rhys and I arrived in Des Moines, IA, by car on August 11th. Nina Rhys and Dylan flew in on the 12th. We took ownership of the RV on the 13th and I drove it off the dealer's lot on the 14th. Let the journey begin......
